Bottle, North Wales location. Pours a fairly flat mahoganey color, almost no head after a few seconds, although the bottle did release a pffsst upon opening the cork. Lacing nil. The aroma was dark fruits, light alcohol, some bready notes. The flavor was dark fruits, some nice chocolate with increasing temperatures, caramel, spicing (along the lines of cinnamon or cardamum, couldn’t nail it), and some light alcohol (for the style). Mouthfeel was quite thin for the style, and while I didn’t want something like motor oil or syrupey, I wanted more body, more depth and definitely some more complexity. An average quad overall (maybe others just liked it more than I), although it missed quite a bit on appearance and mouthfeel (thankfully two of the less exciting rating categories).

Just about as good as the "oak-aged" version. Malty, sweet and fruity (cherries, figs, raisins). Brown sugar sweetness hides the strong alcohol well. This is a wonderful beer.

Draft at P-ville. Hazy ruby brownsih pour, with complex aroma of multiple fruits, with fig, cherry, date, pear, apple, and berry notes. The palate is complex, rather dense, and lively, with well hidden alcohol, and flavor notes of candi sugar, earthy malt, fig, cherry, berry, cabernet, and brown sugar.

Pours a dark brown with reddish highlights. Thin lacey head. Aroma is an interesting combination of yeast, fruit, and molasses. Strong fruity taste with yeast, molasses and malts rounding out the flavor. Bit of a hot edge on the backside. Powerful quad!

Draught at North Wales Dark brown body with thin head. Aroma is yeasty, spices, and a nice variety of fruit. Smooth taste - perfumey, lots of fruit includeing some currants and dried fruit, and a slight bubblegum taste. Alcohol is undetected. Got better as it warmed and the dried fruit part really came out in the end. Pretty good American Quad.
