I would like to rerate this beer.
Hophead22 (265), Redlands, California, USA Sep 23, 2008 750ml bottle, again thanks to Swolf3. Another murky brown pour, no head. Very aromatic, dark fruity smells from all over. Very rich tasting, slightly alcoholic, very good. juiceisloose (339), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 18, 2008 Courtesy Beerlando. Pours a dark brown color with a small white head that leaves some sudsy lacing on the glass. The aroma is full of dark fruits, raisons, figs, candied sugar and alcohol sweetness. Hugely sweet profile from the nose. The flavors are just as sweet with the dark fruits, raisins, and figs dipped in caramel and alcohol. Really sweet and big on flavor with a good amount of heat. Medium-full bodied and syrupy on the mouthfeel that goes down very smooth with a long sweet finish. Pretty good quad here. hopscotch (4591), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Sep 17, 2008 Updated: Sep 30, 2008Bottle… Post RBSG ’08 O-Town/Vero Beach Throwdown Chapter 8… I got the dregs. Murky mahogany ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Earthy, beefy aroma with dark fruits, raisins, caramel and brown sugar. Well-hidden alcohol. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with supple carbonation. Sweet, dark fruit essences play nicely among vinous notes, praline and tons of residual sugar. Sweet, caramel finish. Thanks to Beerlando for providing the bottle! TomDecapolis (2482), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 11, 2008 On tap at Iron Hill West Chester. Pours a lightly hazy brownish amber with a medium off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, nuts, candi sugar, brown sugar and a touch of hops. Flavor was a match of the same with a touch of alcohol and some hops coming through. A well done "fresh" quad. JMFG (1174), Florida, USA Aug 31, 2008 Courtesy Beerlando. Chestnut brown color with a thin light tan head. Plum, dark fruits, some apple on the aroma, a hint of Belgian yeast. Sweet caramel and plum taste, slight Belgian twang on the finish. Stays away from being overly sweet. Nice.
