Bottle shared at the hellbilly holiday tasting. Deep black body with a small creamy tan head. Dark roasted malt and coffee, ripe fruit and chocolate in the aroma. Flavor is the same with some warming alcohol and a hint of hops on the finish. Smooth and creamy on the palate. Very nice.

Sample courtesy of superdave70 at hellbilly*s holiday tasting. Pours a midnight black with a tan head. Nose is cocoa, dark fruits, molasses and alcohol. Taste is coffee, burnt molasses, brown sugar and alcohol with some hops in the finish. Medium creamy mouth feel. Good stuff. Glad I have one in my cellar. Thanks Dave!

Ink black with a tan head. Black roasted malt aroma with some booze. Medium to full body. Rich, blackened malt flavors with a boozy chocolate sweetness. Classic IRS here. Bottle thanks to swolf3.

On draft nitro pour at Capones during the Black Friday 2008 event. The nitro pour obviously made this one super smooth and drinkable and just made this one really enjoyable. Flavor and aroma of the usual burnt malts, chocolate, coffee, espresso notes with more sweetness then I was expecting. I had the fortune of having this out of a growler and bottle within a few weeks of this sample and no matter the method this was one good beer.

Draft. Pours a black body with a tan head. Sweet malty, creamy and then big coffee roastiness. A nice creamy body with a moderate etoh warming.

On nitro at the brewery in Phoenixville. Black pour with thick, creamy head. Lots of chocolate and malt in the nose. The chocolate continues over the palate, a little bitter, but not too much. Super drinkable for a 9.7% brew.

Tap at Capone’s. Pours out black with a small lacing off white head. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate and some light bourbon notes. Complex taste with a nice smooth mouthfeel, roasted malt, baker’s chocolate, vanilla, oak and bourbon. No real notes of any alcohol and was very drinkable and smooth. Well done

Bottle from JB175. Pours thick with a light brown head and a black body. Decent lacing. Aroma of chocolate, tar, smoke and alcohol. Taste is very chocolatey with some mocha, lots of smoke and vanilla. Ultra creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation.
