9/17/08 - 750 ml bottle courtesy of foureyedgeek shared with Exec Board. Pours black with tan/white head. Nose is chocolate and roast with mild vinous fruit and a touch of coffee. Taste is sweet chocolate with roasted coffee and raisin and fig. Good dose of bitter, but not overpowering. No real astringency. Very, very solid.

Courtesy of Eli. Pours dark brown, but not the midnight absence of color of a lot of RIS. A thick, dark tan head. THe aroma is a deep roasted sweet coffee/ caramel latte scent. Flavor is an extremely burnt flavor. Extremely bittersweet, with very little middle ground. Thick, but not overwhelming. Leaves a nice brown sugar and burnt bitter flavor on the tongue. Very good RIS.

Bottle. Poured an opaque dark brown color with a tan head. Thick pour. Smelled of chocolate, tar, alcohol, and a hint of black rubber. Full bodied and slightly sweet. Tarry, chocolatey flavor with low to moderate carbonation and some alcohol warmth.

Big thanks to foureyedgeek for sharing. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Roasty smell with chocolate and coffee. Tastes smooth and creamy with lots of cocoa and espresso notes. This is a really good stout!

From bottle courtesy of foureyedgeek. Light sweet nose with some coffee and a bit of chocolate. Mild hop character. Vanilla. Dark black clear with thin cocoa head. Medium bodies with medium carbonation. Sweet start with chocolate, coffee, and licorice. Bitter finish with lots of dark bitter chocolate. Nice Stout.

Bottle: A friend of mine visiting PA picked this up for me. Never heard of it before, but it was really good. Pours dark as night with a small head. Aroma of chocoate, caramel and coffee. Very good.
