Dark brown black with no real lasting head. Smell is nice and roasted and figgy and chocolatey. Flavor has some oak to it that balanced the roasted malt flavors nicely. Nice palate that works well here. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours dark black with a light tan head. Smell is mostly rich dark, dry cocoa, chocolate and a bit of dark fruits as well. Taste is rich, dark roasty malt, dark chocolate and dark fruits again, and very well balanced between the components. The dark fruit flavor comes out a touch more as it warms. Mouthfeel is medium to slightly thick, and the lightly bubbly carbonation makes this incredibly drinkable and almost refreshing. Nice hit of hop bitterness too rounding this out into a fantastic Imperial Stout! Thanks again for this one! doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2008 750ml bottle, I’ve been sitting on this one for a while now. Pours black, an aggressive pour yields a small, creamy, light brown head that leaves some lace. Smells dark and sweet and toasty malty, very nice, not sickly malty sweet. Tastes roasty malty, slight coffee, slight semi-sweet chocolate flavors. Very tasty, semi-dry roasty malt flavors. A bit of alcohol flavor as well. Full bodu, only semi-thick though, nice mellow, smooth carbonation. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

Thanks buddy. Pours deep dark with thin tan head. The aroma is a mix of dark roasted malts, rich dark chocolate, burnt malts and sweet molasses. Nice inviting nose. The taste is sweet and roasty with a burnt malt backbone. Intertwined in there is rich sticky chocolate. Wow, rich, roasty, burnt, sweet and decadent. Tremendous balance too. Mouthfeel: Full-bodied. Mild carbonation.
