Thanks to TheRealBastard for the trade. Enjoyed at AlohaCs. Smooth and sweet. Dark and heavy. Not overpowering anywhere. Prunes, malt and lightly boozy. Really good brew.

3D Labeled bottle LagunitasFan brought to our holiday shindig tasting. Pours brownish wiht a tan ring. Nose is rich with cereal and malt and quite nicely smooth. Taste is rich and sweet and mellow and quite malty, totally a cool beer with a nice warming tobacco quality.

Bottle... Very dark, murky, prune juice-colored lager with a small, creamy, tan head. Pulled deeply from my glass, the aroma lends vinous, earthy, fruity notes of dried plum, dark raisins, fig, cola, wood, tawny port and rawhide – that is a nose-full. Full-bodied with a smooth, velvety mouthfeel and tender carbonation. Sweet, meaty, vinous flavors of dried plum and sherry balanced by ethanol and hop bitterness alongside a whisper of chocolate and delicate acidity. Lengthy, dried plum finish.

Pours an opague, dark brown body with a somewhat thick oily consistancy and a small beige head with some nice lacing. The aroma is semi sweet chocolate, molasses, and nuts with some banana bread and vanilla tones. The flavor is a lot like the aroma with more dark fruit tones coming through and a mild alcohol finish. I really didnt find the alcohol to be as overbearing as some. A very tasty beer.
