Commercial Description:
Its like an imperial IPA with a big malt body. Dark red in color with lots of hop bitterness, flavor, and aroma, this ale is a malty, high gravity gem (7.5% ABV) crafted from two types of malt and four types of hops. Once called Loco-Motive Imperial Red Ale, we shortened... ’cause it was too long.

Bomber. Pours hazy amber with a clingy 4-finger beige head. Nice grapefruit/floral aroma. Flavor is lots of citrus/floral hop over mildly roasted caramel. It totally lacks harshness. A joy to drink. Truly.

22 ounce bottle thanks to BrewDad. Pours a clear red color with a medium white head and some nice lacing. The aroma is mostly sweet caramel, some rich earthy citrus hops as well. The flavor is dominated by a rich caramel and some metallic piny hops. Quite drinkable and nice. Bitter in the finish

Pours a red brown with a white head. Aroma is fairly light with a sweet malt and citrus aroma. The taste is rather complex, with toasty, bready malt, fruitiness, and some some nuttiness on the finish. The alcohol is not very noticable considering the percentage.

8/18/09 from 22oz bottle. Aroma is an even blend of strong citrusy caramel and fresh PNW hop flora with a faintly bready-sour background. Appearance is hazy auburn-tan with a very well maintained off-white head and substantial lacing. Flavor is very big and hop forward, with a blend of grass and earth balanced by a sweet/sour malt background that skips the bready notes of the aroma and lingers slightly into the finish. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied with a medium-high carb texture and low warmth. Overall, a very agressive brew that should in no way be lumped into the ubiquitous "amber" category. Big, and Unapologetic.
