| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Though not being impressed by most of Iron Horse...this one was a little nice surprise. Pours a darker brownish black with red hints. Aromas mainly of dry roasted coffee and dark roasty malts with a touch of sweetness. Burnt coffee really stands out in the nose as well. Amazing nose!! Flavors are a bit more not as stand-outish, but the coffee/milkier chocolate mixture works well with the more than likely chocolate malts used. Light but tasty fresh ground espresso flavor hits the palate for the finish which surprisingly falls off pretty quickly. The booze is well hidden too. Yum! fakepurseninja (797), Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Deep roasted, smokey wood nose with strong, expressive espresso. Deep roasted chocolate malt highlighted with a huge, fully roasted coffee bean character. Somewhat peaty and earthy. Light creamy mouth with smooth lightly bitter chocolate and wood finish. Very impressed with this drink. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Bottle: Pours a deep brown color with a large, fizzy beige head. I drank this in a Coca-Cola fountain glass at my inlaw’s house... damn near looked more like coke than a beer. Other than that massive coffee aroma permeating the room. Kind of sweet too. Like coffee with a bunch of sweetener added. Heavy coffee presence in the taste with minimal cocoa sweetness. I love espresso infused brews, but this was branched off more as a traditional coffee taste. Good.

Tons of coffee flavor and aroma in this one. Moderate sweet chocolate/caramel malts with light sweetness. Light to moderate bitterness. Smooth and almost creamy. Could definitely stand to be thicker. I love coffee, and I really enjoy this one. 22oz bottle carruthm (1185), Seattle, Washington, USA

Aroma is way better than the taste on this one. acblue (66), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Amazing aroma; freshly ground espresso is the nearest comparison. Promises everything I have ever wished for in a coffee stout. Doesn’t deliver on said promise when it comes to taste. Thin mouthfeel, somewhat sour flavor in a bad way. Worthwhile on first impression, but disappointing from there on out.
