Commercial Description:
A Bronze coloured American style pale ale. Packed flavour, Australian, German malts, American yeast and generous hops have created a beer with a nutty malt flavour, crisp bitterness and a mammoth citrus aroma. The IronHouse Pale Ale was presented with a Bronze Medal at the International Beer Awards 2008.

Gold to bronze, well carbonated clear beer that holds a firm white head. While I wouldn’t say ’mammoth’, the citrus aroma is certainly present, I may be drinking it a little cold here. Balanced firmly towards the hops with good up front bitterness. Delivers all the way from sip to swallow, good body, very drinkable. Quite like this beer and would buy again.

Tried on tap at the Cock and Bull Hotel, Launceston. Clear, orange golden body with short head. Leans to hop bitterness than malt sweetness, grapefruit notes and easily drinkable.

No doubt modelled on the LCPA but this is an ok interpretation. Lots of fizz is quite well matched to a truck loan of sweet passionfruit (ie if it wasn’t present this would feel sticky). An unexpected bitter note pops up at the finish which neither adds or subtracts.

Bottle. Pours golden with a white head that diminished. Malty aroma of sweet malt with underlying citrus and light hoppy notes. It’s all rather subdued. The flavour is biscuit malt and citrusy hops. Low bitterness and a malty finish. Unoffensive but just not exciting enough given there’s so many great locally brewed APA’s on the market. Cheers to Stew & Chris for sharing.

Pours golden orange with a quickly dissapating head. Nose has your trademark pale ale citrus notes. Palate has a touch of biscuity malt but plays second fiddle to the citrus. Finishes with low hop bitterness. Not bad, lacks impact for me.

Bottle - Rich gold colour with long lasting, frothy white head. Citrusy aroma. Slightly below average carbonation. Medium body. Malty with plenty of citrusy hop flavour - probably Cascade/Amarillo. Pleasant, moderately bitter finish. Refreshing!
