Dark brown with almost no head. Aromas of molasses, brown sugar, and spice. Tastes of molasses, brown sugar, caramel, spice and vanilla with some wine character. Would get higher marks if the oak and port were more dominant. Pretty good.

Draft. Mahogony beer with a nice dark cream colored head. Caramel and light fruit aroma. Toffee/caramel flavor with rich fruitiness. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee/caramel lingers with light brown sugar and light port. Port adds a nice complexity.

Draft at Bistro BA fest. This was one of my favorites of the day. Really nice sweetness, and barrel aging. Not too overwhelming in the bourbon department; nicely balanced.

Attractive ruddy brown pour with a vanilla oak nose along with a hint of coconut. The flavor is the same. Nice, but not too complex. Quite a hot finish.

2006 vintage On tap @ Iron Springs poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of oak, port, toffee, dark fruit and some light vanilla notes. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a lightly dry finish. Flavors of port, oak, toffee, fruittiness and a hint of vanilla with a smooth warming lingering fruity finish.

Sampled at the second annual Bistro’s West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Fest: Pours a transparent copper orange with a nicely-lacing wispy-light tan head. Aroma of sweet fresh oak and caramely malt with some toasty grainy notes and light fruity esters. Body starts semi-sweet and earthy bitter with big oaky complexity throughout. Could use some more time to mellow, but is pretty nice right now.
