From the Bottle at the Marriott Hotel, Denver 26/09/2009 Big hop aroma. Amber coloured strong in alcohol and hoppy with a crisp and bitter malt finish.

I don’t usually use the terms "unbalanced" or "over-hopped," and those terms are not necessarily criticisms, but this beer is nearly a hop tea. I like hops and I certainly like this beer, but I’m not sure that I will be able to taste anything for a week. The beer pours a solid, darkened amber, and the head leaves good lacing. The aroma is very strong and excellent. The beer smells like a handful of crushed hops. There are floral, citric and pine notes. While adding this much hops made for a great aroma, they just overwhelm the taste. I like hops and like the flavor, but you can’t quite taste everything without more malt. The beer is quite bitter, so the feel suffers somewhat but the oiliness of the hops is still enjoyable. Drinkability is good, but switching to anything but a DIPA would be impossible after a glass of this beer.

I almost bought a bottle of this at BevMo, but I’m glad I didn’t because I went to Toronado and they had it on tap. (Hand pumped and dry hopped, no less!) Pours deep amber with a few cream colored bubbles. Huge nose of pine, sweet citrus and caramel malt. Same in the flavor which was made smooth by the room temperature hand pump serving.

$5.99 from City Beer in SF...Was saving it for a ’special’ occasion..by ’special’ I mean more special than me watching reruns on the tube....well....the A/C went out today, so I deemed it ’special’ enough to break it open. Upon opening it erupted onto the countertop. Post-pour, the head dissipated quickly. It has that sweet & malty aromoa...not that special. Taste is rather nice. Slightly tangy with hints of citrus and alcohol content. It would be much better if they worked on the aroma to match the flavor......

Drank it with ghawener. Bottle Conditioned. Medium bodied, unidimensional, not a lot of layers like other IIPAS. Malty and alcohol is very present.

Bottle: Thanks to Ramenen, glad you´re doing fine and can enjoy a good beer again. String powerful with a nice hop kick, manages to maintain a solid malt base. Alcohol is very noticeable.

I think It’s great. I have tasted a couple other beers with a similar flavor and I love the recipe. If you love doubles I recommend it.

Hazy orange with a creamy white head. Sweet grapefruit and caramel aroma and taste with a pleasantly bitter pine finish. Good.
