marcus (1095), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 31, 2008 On tap at the Slow Food festival in S.F. This dark brown ale poured with a massive tan head that took a while to settle. There was a strong aroma of chocolate. The flavor is all roasted and chocolate malt and is very tasty. Retorp (2156), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 Draft right from the Brewery Ambulance at the San Diego Craft Brewer’s Conference. The aroma is quite intense with concentrated coffee and roasted/toasted malt and hints of sweet cream. The body is a dark brown to black and holds a firm, lasting mocha colored head. The flavor is mild toasted/roasted malts, coffee and milder chocolate notes. A long dry, but still slightly sweet cream accented finish. Quite good. I went back for a refill several times, and that with many other beers available. bb (2222), Martinez, California, USA May 1, 2008 Draft. On Nitro. Black beer with a light brown nitro head. Light roasty aroma. Roasty, oatmeal, barley flavors coming through. Medioum bodied. Lingering chocolate, light roast, and oatmeal. Should read: Sless’ Stimulating Stout.
