| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 16, 2007 Sampled at the 5th Annual Wildland Firefighters Benefit & Festival. Beer is murky medium brown with a small, frothy-bubbly, off-white, quickly diminishing head.

The aroma is malty with a moderate note of burned peanuts, toasted grain; Hoppy with a light note of alfalfa; Yeasty with a moderate note of basement; Trace miscellaneous note of an undefinable soy saucey meaty quality. Curious.

The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, light-to-moderately bitter with a long, moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish. Burned quality in the rets—like scorched peanuts or popcorn.

The body is medium, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is lively.

| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | May 8, 2007 Pumphouse Fest 2007. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (apricot), with notes of ammonia and vegetables. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, very unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. This one had many problems, sadly...especially the aftertaste, which nearly induced the gag reflex. Not trying to be harsh, mind you. But seems to need some work. Will try again someday, perhaps...it’s been 5 years since I’ve been to the brewpub, so maybe this summer or fall a revisit is in order.
