kmacphail (37), Isle of Lewis, Scotland Sep 22, 2008 Tried from the bottle having purchased from the local Tesco. The beer poured very dark with a head that disapeared quickly. The smell of roast oats, I felt it wasn’t sweet enough to be malts, with a faint hint of coffee and a faint spicy, fruity smell. This theme continued through to the taste but there was a slight bitterness possibly berries or bitter figs, I was worried this would be too sweet but this balanced it out well. A fine pint that I personally would have again.
