bhensonb (3109), Woodland, California, USA May 15, 2008 500 ml. bottle as Wee Beast. Wild brew. Unpasteurized? Aromas of fruit, malt and wood. Very pleasant. Hazy reddish amber color with a decent beige head. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. First taste hinted of wasabe. Weird on my part. It is darkish fruit, darkish sugar, and an underlying horseradish note - very faint, but I insist it’s there. Finishes fairly dry. Enough bitter to make a statement. Still, it’s the complexity of flavor that makes this beer excellent.
CaryTheDude (443), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Fuckin nose. Then, not so much. Disappointed but still fulfilled. Too scotchy. Just not fun to drink. Bragesnak (1404), Aarhus, Denmark Oct 25, 2008 Aros Ølfest, Aarhus, DK.
Bottled, 241008.
Amber with small head. Aroma of bread with notes of fruit. Flavor is fruity with malt, wood, hop spices and a touch of alcohol Suttree (2380), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 29, 2008 Orange, thin ring of foam. Bready, toasty aroma, with some tartness or sourness. Flavor is...iced tea? then some bready, crackery notes, and an odd tart finish. Some smoky, earthy notes, as well. Wulfstan (481), California, USA Sep 22, 2008 This is a wonderful wee heavy. It’s reddish brown with a thin, off-white head quickly shrinking to a thin ring. The aroma is sweet grapes and wine with brown bread, leaves, and fruit. The taste was a lot of grapes and fruit, with wine, leaves, some bread and hint of pepper with an earthy-leafy hoppiness and bitterness with even a hint of lemon. It’s very tasty and interesting, and highly drinkable. thegreenrooster (1561), St.louis, USA Sep 20, 2008 Pour is a cloudy red with a small tan head. Aroma is fruit vinegar with some sweet malts. Flavor is lots of berry with some dry malts and again the vinegar. Finish leaves a sourness on the tounge. This is just ok nothing great and nothing really bad to say.
