Aromas of roast malt and mild hop. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is slightly harsh roast malt with some decent bitter. Seems like grapefruit rind. The finish is primarily bitter. I’ve had IPAs that were less bitter. Not a killer brew, but a very tasty one. It has little spice/pepper notes. Goes down easy. philbertk (81), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours the color of crushed up salmon eggs....hence the roe ale. Aroma is quite floral and different. Flavor is a bit roasty, some caramel, and some piney and floral hops. A little heavy on the carbonation, finishes with a good bitter. Not bad. Bradrcr (781), Renton, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 3, 2009 9/3/09 from 22oz Bottle. Aroma is excellent and highly unique. You first catch a sweet cream/vanilla note, and as you press your nose further into the glass you catch caramel, Vienna roast and light peppery notes. Appearance is clear copper with a fluffy cream colored head. Flavor is more roast dominant, but still with substantial sweetness and a more floral medium bittering than one would expect from the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium-high bodied with a medium carb texture and light graininess. Overall, a deceptively complex beer that rewards those who pay attention to their palate and taste with their nose.
