Angeloregon (1891), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 11, 2008 Thanks to Dave at By the Bottle for sharing this cellared beer. Poured a rich hazy orange body that seemed to glow. Sweet, tart, and fruity. Nice hops and spiciness. Yeasty esters with a nice astringent, crisp, mildly sour finish. Yum!
ucusty (1062), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Gold pour with a slight haze.. Spicy aroma. Yeasty flavor combined with sour apples, and candy sugar. Real nice considering the sale price! wilkie (1091), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Sep 1, 2008 750 mL bottle. Pours golden with great carbonation, hazy, big white head. Aroma is spice, orange, yeast. Flavor is similar, with fruity flavors from yeast--apple, peach, raisins, and candi sugar all throughout, tangy finish. Nice beer, and I don’t know if it is normally $4 a bottle, but that is a really good price. Kirill (239), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 21, 2008 golden bubbly with white fluffy head.. a little clearer than most tripels but still cloudy... moderate aroma of yeast... mild taste of yeast sugars and some citrus - i think its a great balance tripel, not too sugary like karameliet notalush (2033), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Aug 16, 2008 Tap at Barcade - Rogue does a tripel - it’s pretty much what I expected - strong candi sugar aroma, some yeasty character, a tiny bit of tartness, honey, clove, and coriander - quite sweet flavor, too much so, in fact - it remains dominant for most of the experience, covering up a potentially complex array of spices - gets a little drier near the end, but after that it winds up tasting a bit like soap due to an odd floral and hop combination - I guess I’m glad I got to try it, but it wasn’t all that good. Headbanger (975), Aurora, Illinois, USA Aug 12, 2008 750 ml bottle-Pours a hazy cloudy orange with a big loose off white head that foamed everywhere on initial pour . Aroma of belgian yeast, candy, and slight alcohol. Taste of the same with a little sour, malt, and it finishes with a dryness. This medium bodied brew is not that bad but wish it had a bit more Belgain characteristics and sweetness.
