| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2008 Reminds me more of a pale ale, than an IPA. Aroma seemed faint and not very reminiscent of the distinctive cascades, citrusy aroma and flavor. Appearance is spot on for a red ale. Flavor was very smooth which showcased more of the malt than the hop profile. Palate like the flavor was very clean. Miver (566), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured clear dark copper in color with a touch of amber. There is a medium sized sticky, beige head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, piney, overall a little sweet. Taste of a caramel malt backbone generously hopped. Hops are piney, and finish with a bit of grapefruit. Good body, and quite drinkable. Very nice.. Glouglouburp (2839), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 11, 2008 In short: An intense fruity hop-fix
How: Tap at Blue Tusk (Syracuse NY)
The look: Clear copper body with a medium beige head
In long: Strawberries wrapped in smooth caramel working admirably well with the coniferous and resinous hops. The type of hop-fix I came to expect from Willimantic. Medium-high sharp bitterness. Long finish. Carbonation appropriately aggressive. Quite tasty, somewhat intense and rather unconventional. Sometimes you just feel like something different, unusual, intense and aggressive, for some it means a S&M session, for me it means an Ithaca Casazilla.

Nose is caramel malts, mild dried fruits, some honey and citrus. Sip starts with a mildly sharp piney bitter followed by citrus hops and caramel malts. Finishes mildly bitter. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep amber with thin off white head. Big malty aroma followed by piney hops and berries. Tasty. Kind of slick. Not very bitter, at least not for an IPA or Red ale or whatever the hell this is. Get a bit of grapefruit in the flavor though. Very decent beer. Worth trying. dchmela (1440), Orlando, Florida, USA
