Commercial Description:
The name CascaZilla is a play on both the name of our local Cascadilla Gorge and the monster amounts of Cascade hops in this beer. This red ale gets its distinctive color from a healthy portion of caramel malt, which also lends some body and sweetness to the beer. The predominant flavor and aromoa of this beer, however, is brought to you by the fresh American hops. If you haven't done so yet, treat yourself to Ithaca Beer's new monstrously hoppy Red Ale.

(Bottle, BB May 07) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted oats, and nuts. Flavor of caramel malt, nuts, and hops; quite malty for an IPA.

12oz bottle-pours a rich light tan head that laces and copper color. Aroma is sweet citrus/pine (cascade) hops, medium malt-caramel, brown sugar. Taste is sweet citrus/pine (cascade) hops with a bite. OK/mild carbonation. Thanks decaturstevo for picking this out.

Clear orange coloured beer topped by a white cover that mostly lasts. Efficiently extracted malt base with a good crystal backbone offers a competent juicy, fruity base for the hops to thrive on. Full-on cascade reminds of a shaper St-Ambroise with dominant citrus fruits and resinous flavors. Enough malt to stand up to the hops, so this remains a solid American IPA, besides the ridiculously childish label. Light-bodied, aromatic, highly drinkable and juicy.
