poured a nice dark amber hue, almost brown a tan head that had some lace. Aroma had a nice dark fruit note as well as some yeast. Flavor was similar, but seemed sweeter than i expect from the aroma. No real barnyard or earthy notes to this, but still a nice brew.

Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with jdubFL. Pours a hazy reddish brown colored brew with a thick off-white head that has some nice retention. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, yeast, some tart berries and a hint of pepper. Taste is medium bodied, with taste of Belgian yeast, some caramel malt, spice and a touch of tart berries. Finish has a sweet caramel, candi sugar and yeast aftertaste that leaves behind some tart berry flavors. An interesting combination of Belgian ale and an amber ale.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear deep mahogany with a large creamy beige head. The aroma is has sweetness, caramel, spices, yeast, a splash of fruit and a slight dusty quality. The flavor has a decent caramel malt presence that seems to be a bit dusty as well. Maybe this is a dry earthy quality I am confusing for dust? The Belgian yeast, moderate candy sweetness, peppery spices and touches of fruit round out the flavors. Medium bodied and slightly warming. This is a decent offering from a brewery I am happy to have in the area (distribution that is).

Bottle from Root Cellar. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and small alcohol aroma. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. This beer met my expectations.

dark brown amber brew with belgian abbey style aroma. tastes are similar but they morph into a plastic taste that is combined with a decent malt freshness. incomplete and inadequate spice and a artificial woody note again plastic like band aid. palate barely a 3.

12 oz bottle. Poured a great looking black body sitting underneath a huge foamy beige head that left huge globs of lace down the side of my tulip. Aroma is loaded with yeast, floral notes, fruitiness, chocolate and brown bread. The body is too thin and the carbonation is on the strong side. Flavor is loaded with yeast and sour fruits and to a lesser extent chocolate and grains.

Bottle. Pours a brune body with an off white head. Pepper, vegetative notes, caramel, and nuts. A bit all over the place. Spicy pepper notes and toasted malt with a bitter earth finish. Fail.

Ithica has had some good brews, Caskzilla being the best. But this one is just okay. Nothing spectacular, but not bad. Average brew from an average brewer

12 ounce bottle courtesy of j12601. Thanks! Pours a dark purplish brown color with a medium very creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is yeasty and citrusy with a bit of bread, spice and brown sugar. Taste is coffee, nuts, peppery spicy notes, clove, herbal hop notes. Medium bodied. A bit weird, but good.
