Light lacing. Aroma is citrus, light pine, and light cookie dough. Quite nice. Has a orange hop and light toasted malt flavor. Again, very nice. A smooth, medium body beer. No unpleasant after taste. 10% alcohol is well hidden. This beer was truly a pleasant suprise. Thanks Andy. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Bottle. Poured an amber color with an off-white head. The aroma had very defined grapefruit with a hint of pine. Flavor is a mix of hoppy grapefruit with a caramel malt background. Medium body but nothing overly exciting. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Hazy peach pulp body, thin off-white head. Bready, caramely nose, dry, with subtle earthy hops, at least for an I2PA. Vinous body with potent alcohol and medicinal notes, prickly, with bitter, earthy hops. Long bitter, alcohol-laden finish. The heavy, bready but not too sweet malts fail to cut the bitterness or buffer against the alcohol. A beer of unnecessary heft and burn. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2007 Bottle from puzzl. Hazy apricot color with big white head. Earthyand malty with some lactose in the nose. Very malty with earthy hop taste throughout. Arayaga2 (971), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Strange urea and citrus aroma is a bit duller than I have come to expect from an IIPA. Taste, however is fairly respectable with pineapple, apricot and apricot sweetness overshadowing hop bitterness. beastiefan2k (1603), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2007 A gift from JoeMcPhee, he must of known since he didn’t like it I would. 12 oz bottle poured into small goblet glass with no head at all. A very beautiful thick murky orange body. Can’t see through it, looks like grapefruit juice, hints of things to come. Aroma is hop heavy with citrus light grapefruit. Taste is malty grapefruit, a nice heavy maltiness is speckled throughout the strong but not overpowering hop profile. A strong bitterness to offset the hop sweetness. Finishes with a sugary lemon juice aftertaste. Body is medium heavy and despite the spikey feeling coming off the hops there is a bit of an under cabonated feel. Wow, just realized its 10 percent. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Malty aroma with a hint of citrus. Murky orange and brown in color with a medium to full palate for the style. Lots of malt in this one with some citrus flavors--but not really a lot of hop presence or bitterness. I wouldn’t classify this as an IPA at all--definitley not a double. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2007 Clear dark orange pour with small beige head, admirable retention. Lacing is sporadic but heavy, grainy in appearance. More thoughtful than its standard counterpart, citrus aroma includes notes of grapefruit, orange, peach. Also evident are doughy malts, caramel, sugary esters and pine. Very inviting. A balanced flavor expands on the aforementioned citric components, adding honey and more intense grapefruit. Very quaffable, medium bodied mouthfeel. Finishes dry and brackish. This is a well made double IPA that doesn’t blast the palate with hops; rather, it subtly lets the fresh hop presence build up to a climax that turns out to be less exciting than the parts it is a summation of. I really enjoy the taste experience brought on by the use of all New York hops. Nice beer.
