| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Thanks to secret santa. The beer pours to a clean golden orange body that radiates light and has a nice white head. The aroma is grapefruity and piney. It also has a distinctive fruit and carmalized sugar character. The flavor is a nice bitter pine and spruce with toasty deep caramelized sugars. Hints of grapefruit and curacao. I thought the flavor is pretty good and definitely different than other brews. Perhaps its the "100% New York State Grown Hops"? Or, perhaps it’s the interesting sugary profile. The flavor finishes with an earthy spicy kick. The palate is bitter, moderately bodied, clean feeling. Nicely warming on the finish. Overall, a great secret santa gift. I like the uniqueness brought to the IIPA by this beer. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Light clear orange color with a thing white head. Some nice lacing. The aroma is a little mild for a IIPA. Flavor is clean but weak and the body is too light for what it is trying to be. Poor showing. CaptainCougar (5544), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Growler shared by ElJefe at the Hampton Inn tasting following DL06: Pours a clear golden bronze with a nicely-lacing, thin, wispy white head. Nice fresh grapefruit and piney hoppy aroma has good sweet caramel malty presence. Body has lots of sweet caramel maltiness and some sugar crystals with plenty of piney bittering hops and some warming alcohol toward the finish. A pretty good IIPA. snowden719 (130), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2006 on tap, amber color. Flavor is really hoppy with a hint of alchol, strong citrus aroma. Flavor is sweet, but very bitter. Nice hints of citrus. Tastes a bit similar to DFE 90 minute but no quite as good. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2006 Tap at brewery. Pour was a clean, medium orange/brown color with a frothy, but thin, white head. Aroma is fresh grass, sugar, spring pine (when it’s exploding with pollen), and mild citrus. The flavor is sweet/tart grapefruit up front, followed with enough clementine oranges to kill the tartness completely. Finishes a bit peppery which I think is the downfall of the beer. Still a very enjoyable IIPA (bought a growler). goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA
