Bottle via trade with TomDecapolis, thanks Tom. Pours a hazy copper color with a thick off white head. Aroma is floral hops, grapefruit, caramel, light pine. Flavor is floral hops, caramel, some grapefruit, alcohol. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished sweet from the malts yet had a nice hope bite. This was terrific stuff, very drinkable, and IMO underappreciated!

Bottle thanks to hopdog. Pours a deep copper color with nice thick off-white head. Hoppy nose with some notes of malt. Flavor is bitter, hoppy, citrus, roasted, and finally just a touch of sweetness to it. Great balance between the two. Medium body with great texture and mouthfeel. Nice roasted malt and hoppy finish. Thank you Steve!

750ml - A well crafted take on the Belgian Abbey ale. Honey notes on nose with plenty of alcohol. Nice dark gold with nice head an lace. Balance on palate is good, not too sweet or astringent. Good.

Bottle #1199 from 2007. Deep orange-copper color with no head. Aroma of very sweet malt (like barleywine), some citrus hops, floral hops, and belgian yeast. The flavor is the same, sweet malt with lemony hops underneath and some pine bitterness in the finish. It’s alright, but not as belgian as anticipated.

Big thanks to Quake1028 for bringing this puppy to the tasting. Pours hazy orange-copper with thin off white head. The aroma has a nice combination of pine hops mixed with sweet malts, sweet orange juice and cherries. I get a faint Belgian yeastiness too. The taste has nothing but up side with pine hop bitterness mixed with sweet chewy malts. The pine seems to bleed into grassy hop bitterness to midway and into the finish. Wow, this beer is really hop heavy with sticky malts sweetness for some semblance of balance. Nice IIPA.

Bottle # 1498, Apr. 07. Pours hazy apricot orange, no head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, citrus, malt. Flavor is malt, graham cracker, citrus, some alcohol. The alcohol is not as well blended as it could be and the flavor has a tiny bit of peat. I am not in love with this.

Courtesy of someone cool. Thank you, whoever you are.

Glowing orange body, fairly hazy with a smallish off white head....mostly lasting with admirable lacing....citrus fruits, pine, grass and some medicinal notes on the nose....flavor is citrus, pine, grapefruit, orange peel, caramel malt and crushed aspirin....the latter is in small doses and only noticeable if you are really looking for it, but it’s still there....medium bodied, slick on the tongue....lengthy finish, hops and citrus fruits, with a building bitterness....not as good as the Kaffinator, but still a good beer....
