Commercial Description:
Imperial American Extra Strong and Special Double Red Ale. Our anniversary beer, TEN is brewed with too many malts to list and an excess of American hops, including several additions during fermentation. Enjoy the russet color, aggressively hoppy aroma and flavor, rich body and fiery finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a 1/2" tan head. Sweet caramel body with fruit with a creamy body and light hop resins. Light pine hop character and a nice etoh warming.

(750ml bottle, thanks wilkie) Large beige head atop murky red-brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, pine, caramel, some raisin, melon. Taste is just like I expected based on the smell. Medium-full body, light acidity.

750 mL bottle courtesy of Alraomon. Thanks! Pours a brown color with a large, frothy head. Nice lacing. Huge hop aroma with floral, citrus and pine notes. Bitter resiny hops in the taste with brown sugar and toffee notes in both taste and aroma. Full bodied.

(bottle - 750 ml) Murky copper pour with a puffy tan head. Aroma is very hoppy and spicy. Good pine and flower notes mix with a sweet malt scent that takes over at the end. Flavor is surprisingly malty when you catch the aroma. Sweet malts mixed with caramel and vanilla are very present up front and give way to a light chocolaty flavor near the middle. The hops make a come-back at the finish and leave a lightly bitter and peppery taste on the tongue. A bit metallic at the end and the alcohol is definitely noticeable.

Pours reddish brown into a tulip. Fluffy head recedes leaving no lacing. Alcohol, dark caramel and pit fruit aromas. Full with dusty yeast and hops. Lasting caramel finish.

25 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a one inch foamy beige head that left some sticky lacing. Fine beads of carbonation. The nose is a mix of heavy crystal malt and a lot of resiny and piney hops. Some fruitiness and spruce like notes. My first impression is that you really have to like crystal malt to like this beer. Tons of husky and stale iced tea grainy sweetness with the fairly heavy bitterness on the finish. Prominant alcohol on the finish. Mouthfeel is pretty full and heavy with a flabby weightiness. Slight resiny stickiness on the back end. Moderate fizzy prickly carbonation. This is just one that I didn’t care for.
