(Rating #2334)

Bottle shared by Hophead22. Pours a cloudy golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is a bit funky and sweaty with some fresh fruit, pears and a bit of orange. Flavor is oranges and other fresh fruits, slightly funky and tangy with a dry and clean finish. Medium bodied with a nice prickly carbonation.

750ml bottle from phhd, thanks Ethan, shared by DuffManSW and mspindler. Dark, hazy straw color with a good white head. Slightly funky, some fruitiness as well. Citrusy, but very smoth at the same time, real nice.

This was an excellent offering from Ithaca that i had at the Sharp Edge. Very smooth and sweet, with a high malt content and a good hop balance. Very good beer, highly recommended.

Ith WG S7L4F3T6O11 Almost missed this one, it was not on the updated menu at Bocktown; nice place. Smells good like ginger ale! Looks like a typical cloudy whit bier, very attractive. Creamy head fades rapidly, little bursts of spitting popping head bubbles. First taste, tho kind and gentle, does have an alky notion. Volatile aftertaste follows but it is neither to the point, nor overwhelming. Goes down way too easy to boot. Reminds me a bit of a mild easygoing whiskey spiked ginger ale. Good enjoyable carbonation. Mild to medium odious bitter linger. Best belgie strong ale I’ve had, heheheh! Be careful, this gives no indication that it is 8%! Very enjoyable experience.

My Bottom Line:
This fluffy Belgian-style Strong Ale shares doughy yeast and lightly honeyed cereals with subtle citrusy, herbal hoppiness for a dry and classy number.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A foamy throne reigns over the light golden.
-This is extremely expensive (15$ for 750ml) for the end result.
-There is wild yeast in here? It’s not showing up in the flavor profile much, unless it is responsible for most of the dryness.
-This is very drinkable for its abv.
-Carbonation is rather effervescent.

Bottle.

Great looking brew. Nice aroma of wheat, yeasy and spice and hints of citrus and moss. Taste is nice and sweet and spicy and has a nice mouthfeel. A bit dry too on the finish, very good.

750ml from LilBeerDoctor - thanks, Margaret! Nice hazy orange pour with an invitingly frothy head. Definitely is yeasty in the mode of a Belgian wheat, with lots of funk and bready aromas. Mouthfeel is slightly thin, a bit blandly chewy. There’s not much of a tart quality in the taste alas, with some malt grain and fairly nondescript spice. Almost like a biere de garde slightly past its prime, but not bad.
