Received this in a trade from LUM. Thanks! Pours a deep amber color with minimal head. Just enough you know its carbonated. The nose - pine, slight grapefruit, maple syrup??? The mouthfeel - nice its very citrusy upfront which smoothes out to a nice hoppy bitter back end. this is a nice IPA which is very drinkable. BTW I get some maltiness in there also on the backend. I would certainly buy this beer if I came across it in my travels. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-06-2008 00:13:04 --

Pours clear amber into a shaker. White conglomerate head with excellent retention leaves slight sheets as it slowly recedes. Pine and weed aromas. Sweet malt upfront turning quickly to a bitter, astringent weed resin finish.

tap. Nice copper color with floral and pine aromas. Nice flavors of pine and citrus, very hoppy but smooth with a nice mouthfeel. Has some lingering bitterness in the finish that is offset with some malt backbone. Nice.

12 oz bottle pours medium copper color with a nice foamy head. Nice citrus and floral hop aroma. Nice bitterness that does not over power the body of caramel and slight bit of yeast. Bitterness fades into the malty body. Does not leave a bitter taste in your mouth. Very nice IPA. Not trying to make you have bitter beer face, but a nice solid IPA all the same.

I thought this was a mediocre IPA. It was a little watery but i was also drinking other heavily hopped beers and that may have caused the disturbance.

Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Grapefruit and light pine aroma. Grapefruit, light pine and caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Grapefruit, pine, and caramel lingers.

bottle. Pours a medium copper color, a bit darker than the usual ipa. Half inch or so of thin light tan head clears quick. Pretty big aromas of pine resin and some light spiciness. Some sweet fruit in the nose as well. Flavor shows more citrus notes mixing in with the sticky pine. Not much sweetness to speak of, and the 8% shows up with a bit of booze warming on the back of the palate. Finishes on the oily side. Toning down the abv on this one would help it out a lot, imo.

I think this is a really underrated IPA. Especially at the prices you can get it at in Ithaca! It’s a session IPA, if you can call it that at 8% abv. Lots of grass, some pine, some grapefruit, but not a ton. The malt bill isn’t overly thick, and it’s nicely bittered, but not too bitter. This is a damn fine IPA completely in fitting with the style. Which might be why it’s so underrated.
