Commercial Description:
The rich mahogany hue of the Nut Brown is the first thing you will notice about this complex, malty brew. A delicate blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts brings to this beer a chocolatey sweetness, and hints of coffee. The malt character is subtly balanced with Northdown and Fuggles hops.

Bottle. Thanks to Tomdecapolis. Brown body with thin head. Malty, nutty aroma with a touch of sweet chocolate. Flavor is slightly bittersweet with a nutty profile. A tad hoppy and a nice malty character. Leaves a dry last impression.

Sample at Brewery - A good, solid well rounded beer. After meeting those that make it I know there is no lack of effort here.

The color is decent almost reddish brown. A watery body indeed, taste of roasted malts, slight chocolate, light carame, almost no hopsl. Aftertaste is to a minimum, this is not a complex beer. But it is a ok brown ale.

For me this one was just middle of the road. Pours a clear brown, no distinct smell, and a bit watery.

The pretty color in the glass is where this one stopped for me. diminishing head little if any carbonation. Thin watery body..I had higher hopes for this one. Complex malty brew.... ary you on drugs? Sounds to me like a lover of coors light brewed this mess. 2.9 Re-rate: Nose was qutite pleasant and caramel and toffe tones had mellowed to just a touch of butter. The first sixer must have been dusty. Better the second time around.

Soda pop Sweet brown, not my type of beer. Above average carbonation. Tiny wisp of a head. Nutty aroma. They advertise, and I get only a minimum of:chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts , and hints of coffee. Northdown and Fuggles hops, but I do not get much hops.

The beer is a deep raspberry brown with a creamy, lumpy tan head that leaves good lacing. The aroma yields a little sweet malt, a little roast, a little medicinal hops. It is a medium-bodied beer that feels a bit watery and a bit chalky. Now, the flavor... ew. It’s strangely chemically. I can’t even tell what this is supposed to taste like. Something has gone awry. I just held my nose and chugged it just to get it down.

Disappointing. Besides the medium brown color, there is not much that’s draws much attention. Very little in the way of aroma. A somewhat sweet, but buttery flavor. Highly carbonated. Overall, I was expecting alot more in terms of flavor. Despite the commercial description above, there wasn’t much complex about this. An average beer.
