Commercial Description:
The rich mahogany hue of the Nut Brown is the first thing you will notice about this complex, malty brew. A delicate blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts brings to this beer a chocolatey sweetness, and hints of coffee. The malt character is subtly balanced with Northdown and Fuggles hops.

12 oz bottle. I have liked this beer from the first Ithaca variety pack I picked up over a year ago, and still pick it up from time to time. Brown color with tan head that fades fast, not a lot of aroma but a fairly solid nutty taste which belies the nose. Probably my favorite of the Ithaca brews.

Draught. Clear root beer color with a thin frothy beige head. Milk chocolate aroma. Mocha, nutty and minerally flavors with a clean finish. Medium bodied, but a bit thin towards the end. Nothing special to report; though a pretty decent brown ale.

A solid nut brown year after year. The malt balance is just about as good as you can get. Solid brew from a great brewery.

Clear, dark copper appearance; small, tan head, modest lacong. A bit of chocolate in the nose along with coffee and caramel, with a subtle aroma of nuts. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel. Up front taste was moderately sweet, with roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and mild hoppiness. Flavor flattened out as it finished.

Very rich aroma but comparatively thin flavor. Still pretty tasty though. Great color. Very nice, well balanced beer

Rerated 12/30/2006. 12 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours a beautiful clear garnet red with a moderate light tan head that lasted through the entire glass. Pleasant but light aroma of coffee and sweet malt. The flavor was stronger than the aroma with notes of malt, hazelnuts and chocolate. Some sweetness, not at all bitter. Smooth.
