Commercial Description:
The rich mahogany hue of the Nut Brown is the first thing you will notice about this complex, malty brew. A delicate blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt, and four other malts brings to this beer a chocolatey sweetness, and hints of coffee. The malt character is subtly balanced with Northdown and Fuggles hops.

brewtopia "05. Brown body, small white head. Sweet nutty aroma, with a trace of coffee. This was light on the mouth feel, but pleasant enough, a nice brown ale.

On tap at JP Bullfeathers in Buffalo. Poured a deep red body with a huge light tan head. Good roasted, smoky aroma. A little too bitter. Sweet. Medium/ thin body. Good brown ale.

Nov. 24, 2004; 12 oz. bottle. Went to the grocery store looking for a sixer of old standby, Sam Adams -- they were all out, so I came home with this gorgeous ruby-colored brew. As a previous reviewer mentioned, I didn’t like it at first, but it grew on me a bit, too. Not a big fan of the style, but I think it’s a quality brew nonetheless -- good on a cold late-Autumn night in Upstate NY . . .

Flavorful, the malts are strongly present in this beer. Bitter finish to the strong chocolate and roasted coffee flavors. A good Brown Ale.

bottle. Pour is a reddish brown with little off white head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and roasted nuts. Smooth roasty flavor. Definite coffee, nice hazelnut flavor also. This is a very good brown, probably the best I have tasted. Nice bitterness to finish. I like this.

[12 oz. bottle] Dark brown in color with a very thin tan head. Creamy roasted malt aroma mixed with chocolate. Smooth roasted malt flavor with a nice coffee taste in the middle and a smooth and semi-nutty bitter coffee finish. A bit watery, but pretty tasty.
