Seems America can’t compare to traditional English Nut Brown Ales, such as Newcastle and Samuel Smith’s. Had a hard time finishing this one. WeeHeavySD (3041), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

Agreed, this smells, looks, and tastes a bit like a porter. Color is semi-opaque dark brown, rusty color at edges. Medium thick foamy darkish tan head. Aroma is light chocolate roasted malt, a little nutty. Flavor like the aroma, some roasted caramel and chocolate malts, a little nutty, then goes mildly dry and bitter. Also yes to some maple sugar in the flavor. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
