Swirled up a thin white head that delivered some spotty lacing. Clear, copper/orange colored body. Nose is faint citrus and light toasty grains. Body is lightly medium with a low carbonation, somewhat crisp though. Light grainy malt flavors backed by light notes of citrus and pine with a light earthyness and toasty malts. Dry, lightly fruity finish. Props to coldbrewky for the bottle. Thanks Steve! cheapdark (2026), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Wow, what a label, cloud with personality, a little scary. A shade darker than the pale yellow american lager. A little hazy, must be unfiltered. Decent carbonation thru the session. Thin head. Fruity and hoppy on the aroma and the taste. Wet rag olfactory. .Almost IPA in character. Finish is bitter linger for at least a short period of time. Not as bitter as an IPA but certain has the hoopy bite to it. I find it more palatable than many APAs. cazort (419), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 26, 2007 (Bottle) Extremely foamy head, out of control upon opening the bottle...but dies down to be not that much. Hazy appearance. Aroma of hops...a full hoppiness but not strong, not that bitter. Mild taste of caraway. Fresh, clean tasting, but not crisp: no bite. Creamy and smooth for a pale ale. I don’t taste much malt. I could do with it being less sweet, but it’s not too heavy, which is good. A decent beer, but doesn’t seem to fit/reflect this style much. Pours deep amber with a thin beige head. Fairly good punch of floral hops in the nose, a touch of pine perhaps, thrills gum, fresh greens. Nice bitter flavour is balanced by subtle malts. Fresh hops, greens, some pine, chammomile tea. Good if not a little subdued. coldbrewky (736), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Not a bad pale ale. The nose boasts a fair amount of hops and is followed up in the bitterness of the body. Some thin malts in the nose too. Body is medium and a bit underwhelming. This may bee a good all day drinker. Worth a try. LinusStick (1847), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2007 A sub par American pale. Nothing about it stands out. Aroma was kind of weak...hops is all you can pick up, but it’s faint. Pour was a typical dark gold with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was somewhat bitter with hops making the only slight appearance. Malt is nowhere to be found. JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 3, 2007 The bitterness in this one is a bit too stringent for me and more balance is needed. Its not a bad beer though. It has that perfume quality I sense in the other beers which is probably the malts. There is a lot of citrus here and carbonation. biznizness (948), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
