checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 7, 2009 Bottle: Poured a cloudy yellow with a thin head. The aroma was lemons, yeast and spice. The flavor was very lemony and light yeast. Overall, a nice summer beer. bp (451), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 16, 2009 Bottle: pours a hazy straw color with a thin white head that quickly disappears, aroma of lemon and spices, taste is pretty heavy on the lemon, too much for my taste, along with some of the spice. poisoneddwarf (153), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA Sep 8, 2009 12 oz bottle. Excellent Wit! Aroma’s full of signature Wit spices. Exceeds Blue Moon and Ommegang. JFURYCAT (782), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2009 Reminds me of the leinenkugals lemon beer with that sour aftertaste and watery character. There are so many better wits out there. Jblauvs (530), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Aug 10, 2009 Hazy yellow pour with slight offwhite head. light aroma of tangy citrus and wheat. some spiciness, coriander. a little bland though. Mediocre Maverick34 (686), New York, USA Jul 27, 2009 Poured whitish, nice spicyness, citrus and coriander etc. Pretty well done in my opinion. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Jul 21, 2009 7/21/2009: Ithaca Partly Sunny pours perfectly into my Goose Island 312 Urban Whate Ale glass. Its appearance is bright yellow with a 1.25" fluffy slightly off-white head. There is a lively torrent of carbonation and the rocky head is long-lasting. I like the spicy and zesty lemon-wheat aroma. This beer is pretty light, but has plenty of tangy lemon citrus, yeasty wheatiness, and soft spicy finish. This beer carbonated just right and is quite freshing. I am pleasantly surprised by this beer. I would drink another one or two of these on hot Summer day. However, I would consider this beer to be more of an American-style Wheat Ale rather than a Belgin-style Wit.
12 fl. oz. bottle (Best Before: August 2009) from Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #55 for this beer.
JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 20, 2009 Deep yellow-gold beer. Very, very cloudy with a thick white head. The aroma is loaded with coriander. Quite vegetal and fairly citrusy. It’s got a touch of wheatiness. Thin bodied and not very tart. It’s really not good at all. Fairly light, and mostly crappy.
