Commercial Description:
An Ithaca-style interpretation of the classic Belgian Wit bier, this unfiltered ale has a unique spicy flavor and dry finish, making it light and refreshing. Pilsen malt and four varieties of wheat create the yellow color, white foamy head, and signature cloudiness of a wit beer. 5.3% abv.

Bottle from summit beverage. Thanks rick. Poured a pale, cloudy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma is light citrus and clove. Taste is fruity and smooth. Lots of lemon and clove. Drinkable but alittle too sweet.

Pale coloured golden body with a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh hops, a nice maltiness and a very fresh taste of spruce! Medium-bodied; Strong showing of malt, hops and a very stong taste of spruce and mint. Aftertaste shows some of the wheat and a bit of the spruce - not much of anything else. Overall, a very crazy beer that has more of a holiday flavour than anything else. Damn good beer, and very complex, crazy for a summer beer! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 22-October-2006.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy yellow-gold color with a medium sized white head and multiple floater. The aroma was sweet, tangy and light fruity with a faint grassy undertone. The flavor was tangy, sweetish and a bit yeasty with a lightly musty, chewy cardboard undertone. The finish was short and tangy. A bit understated but nicely drinkable. Decent.

Of all the brews in the sampler pack I wish that it was just full of this. A hazy yellow with a perky white head in the gl;ass. Nose is light and has whisps of citrus and grass. A creamy medium body is quickly overtakedn, for the light hop finish. After the first went down via glass the other two didn’t stand a chance and were equally enjoyable direct from the bottle. Consumed during framing of the wood shed. This style is growng on me.

In short: A superior Witbier that could also pass as a Weizen.
How: Bottle 12oz, consumed very fresh, purchased directly at the brewery and drank the same day.
The look: Cloudy golden-blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose of coriander and orange peels. A whole lot of wheat in this one. Very satisfying body for the style. Honeyed wheat, orange pulp, coriander, lemon, light pleasant tartness. A little lactic element gave it a light note of orange flavoured ice-cream. Both refreshing and nourishing. Maybe it’s because I had it so fresh but I thought this was way above average for the style. Partly Sunny, high in the mid 3s.

Growler fill from Consumers on NFB. Pourls gold with a white head. Fruity and lemony aroma with spice. Smooth, crisp body. The flavor has wheat, lemon and spice, and has a nice floraly finish. Pretty good.

The third of three Ithaca samplings tonight in preparation for the Brew Fest tomorrow...slightly cloudy, off-yellow unfiltered body... thin dissipating white head--it’s a wheat, yes... bright, full wheat scents--consistent but not spectacular... medium-bodied, evenly textured to the tongue... lively and engaging... acidic, crisp wheat--nondescript otherwise--and a thirst quencher...a serviceable wheat that doesn’t break new ground or sully the old....a good end to the evening.
