Commercial Description:
An Ithaca-style interpretation of the classic Belgian Wit bier, this unfiltered ale has a unique spicy flavor and dry finish, making it light and refreshing. Pilsen malt and four varieties of wheat create the yellow color, white foamy head, and signature cloudiness of a wit beer. 5.3% abv.

Pours a clouded straw gold that has a nice white head that falls quickly. Nose is citrus and a bit of lemongrass as well. The scents are there, but not powerful or overly strong. Gives a rather smooth and calm fragrance. Flavor is thick with wheat and has a few good dashes of light citrus flavors. Not overly strong or complex though. Feel is nice and smooth on the liquid with small bubbles of carbonation hitting the tongue. Overall very drinkable. A smooth and calm witbier that is definitely worth trying. Nice job Ithaca!

Pale coloured golden body with a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh hops, a nice maltiness and a very fresh taste of spruce! Medium-bodied; Strong showing of malt, hops and a very stong taste of spruce and mint. Aftertaste shows some of the wheat and a bit of the spruce - not much of anything else. Overall, a very crazy beer that has more of a holiday flavour than anything else. Damn good beer, and very complex, crazy for a summer beer! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 22-October-2006.

Of all the brews in the sampler pack I wish that it was just full of this. A hazy yellow with a perky white head in the gl;ass. Nose is light and has whisps of citrus and grass. A creamy medium body is quickly overtakedn, for the light hop finish. After the first went down via glass the other two didn’t stand a chance and were equally enjoyable direct from the bottle. Consumed during framing of the wood shed. This style is growng on me.

12 oz bottle. Excellent Wit! Aroma’s full of signature Wit spices. Exceeds Blue Moon and Ommegang.

Bottle pours a cloudy/milky golden yellow with a medium bubbly white head that left some lacing. Aroma of tart wheat, orange peel, corriander, Belgian Wit yeast, kind of candy sugary sweetness and a nice citrus profile. Flavors were a mix of the same. Nice wheat presence...lemony. Hints of bitterness and dry. On the spicy side but I enjoy my Wit’s a good bit spicy.

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy, effervescent yellowish-brown color; enormous off-white head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Pleasant amounts of coriander and oranges and spice in the aroma. Medium, creamy mouthfeel: relaxed carbonation; an estery and banana core at the front, providing a very warm, full presence in the mouth - yet at the center is a sharp, citrus and tropical fruit clarity; slightly overspiced?, but I really enjoy coriander in my beers. Medium, citrusy and coriander finish; slightly dry.

Bottle, best by 10/08. Quite luxuriously cloudy. Huge citrus aroma, very natural citrus, not at all chemical, relaxed earthy spices. Flavor sweetly citrusy, same spice presence, a bit sharper and stronger at the finish. Sharp but not overbearing carbonation allows for both yeast creaminess and dry crispness. Very nice, a bit underrated I’d say.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy light orange with a nice white head. Aroma of light fruits (some tropical fruits and citrus/lemon), only faint spices. Flavor is light and fruity, some wheat. I like this a lot; light, crisp fruit with a decent malt backbone. Why does this get such poor ratings? Very enjoyable for me.
