Commercial Description:
Straw-colored and crystal-clear, this Pilsner brew is our first genuine lager beer. We used a traditional German lager yeast strain, and the classic Saaz, Hallertau and Hersbrucker hop varieties. Original gravity of 12.5 plato, followed by 8 weeks of fermentation and conditioning (compared to 2 weeks for our ales), result in a 5.5% abv. and a remarkably crisp, clean flavor.

On tap at Ithaca Beer Company. Pours a translucent golden with a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of floral, cereal grains, grassy, some sweet malts. Flavor of grains, some light bitterness, light grassiness. Alittle thin but crisp.

This beer debuted this year and is only available on tap and as part of a summer variety 12-pack (I think). Poured a clear straw color. Smells like a pilsener. Has what I think of as that fine sandpaper texture with lots of small bubbles. Taste is slightly grassy and hoppy and adds a bit of a grapefruit juice finish. Better than all the bad pilseners out there, but not great, IMO.

Notes: Pale yellow with a fluffy white head. Bread-like aroma; lotsa malt in there. Meaty broth! Flavor reminds me of stew and bread. Might sound a little weird but that’s all I can imagine, along with some herbs (marjoram?). Smooth palate but a little chalky after swallowed. Really nice pilsener; full body and full of flavor. My favorite out of the summer pack.

(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Clear golden color with a thick and puffy white head. Aroma is grassy and hoppy with some light tin as well. Flavor is nice and hoppy with a good amount of citrus, grass, and sweetness near the end. Some lingering grapefruit near the end as well with a bitter aftertaste. Nice pils.

Bottle- Pours sparkling gold topped with a generous foamy white cap. Good retention and pretty lace. Strong presence of grassy notes upfront in the aroma. There’s a good dose of floral saaz too, maybe some rose petals, citrus. Sharp hoppy flavour, saaz with lots of floral esssnce to carry it through to the semi sweetness as it finishes. Very tight, and clean, well made example of the style. Got as part of an Ithaca summer pack.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, light orangish-yellowish color; fluffy white head with good retention and lacing. Light, sugar and citrus aroma. Lively carbonation. Medium mouthfeel, showing citrus and wet malts and marshmallow (a vanilla creaminess in there); hints of some esters and dough. Medium, chewy citrus and doughy finish; hints of lime.
