Darker than most Pilseners, thin persistent head. Hop and malt blend not unlike a good pale ale. Lager/Pils notes kick in the aftertaste. Really takes on pils character about midway through. Great finish. One of the better pils I’ve tried. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Tap at Barcade. Pale straw-coloured pour. The aroma is pretty nice. Bright zesty hops and a touch of soft floral character. A touch of lemon and a soft minerally hoppiness on the back. Softly sweet as well with a nice balance of crackery malts. Lovely lingering bitterness with a soft spicy herbal hoppiness. It’s really pretty nice. One of the better pilsners I’ve had in awhile. egajdzis (3638), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Poured a golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malts, citrus fruits, grass, toffee, and light floral notes. Taste of citrus fruits, toasted malts, sweeter toffee, and a medium bitter, hop finish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Tap at Barcade: Light golden pour with a fading white head. Dry crackery aroma with some zesty saaz notes. Nice crisp yet creamy carbonation. The flavor is also dry and with a crackery pils base- very clean with a peppery grassy noble bitterness- seems like tettnang. A very nice pils. Dickinsonbeer (3499), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly darker color than expected for a pils- more of a medium to light copper- or a very deep gold. Nice lasting white head. Aroma is toasty malts, light pils, ltos of sweet cara pils and a nice earthy doughy mt hood-like hop character and some continental hops as well. Flavor is also a bit on the sweeter side for a pilsner, ligth doughy malts and some cara pils sweetness, good earthy herbal hops- noble and fresh- also a wierd spicy earhty hop finish which reminds me of eating a vlassic bread and butter pickle. Interesting beer. I kinda like it. Dacrza (253), Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Thick fluffy white head sits on a solid, healthy bronze body in a PSU pilsner glass (brother Jer’s pour produces three times more foam!)... dry, almost undetectable scents of malts or hops... a full-bodied pilsner to the palate--almost an altbier in body and mouthfeel, alternately creamy and edgy... crisp, champagne-like dryness... the label seems more interested in what hops are used, but the malts are heady.... not your average pilsner , and that is said with some complimentary sentiment: heavier, tighter, more present than its body might suggest--consistent with a hint of fruitiness at the finish... | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Notes: Pale yellow with a fluffy white head. Bread-like aroma; lotsa malt in there. Meaty broth! Flavor reminds me of stew and bread. Might sound a little weird but that’s all I can imagine, along with some herbs (marjoram?). Smooth palate but a little chalky after swallowed. Really nice pilsener; full body and full of flavor. My favorite out of the summer pack.
