I have to agree with Suttree, this is very reminscent of fruitcake in a pint glass. A lot of sweet bread notes, and a very spicy glaze. Rich mocha notes, but somewhere along the way this all balances out, only if you are in the mood for a richer beer, otherwise I could see where this would really put off someones palate. I found it to be enjoyable, but a bit too much alcohol in the finish.

Liquid fruitcake. That’s what this stuff is. In both the aroma and flavor it has that rich dense bready/cakey flavor that gives way to fruity, nutty flavors that meld with some cinnamon and nutmeg. Really enjoyable. On tap at the Brewpub.

draught. Jack of the Wood has increased the quality of its brews by a very large margin since NC "popped the cap". It was late when I had this brew and it gets insanely dark when they dim the lights, but from what I can see this beer appears to be a deep ruby and there is a whispy white head. There’s a malty grap aroma with a bit of wheat. This goes down sweet and bready, with a bit more grapes and subtle dark spices. The alcohol is there, but blends very well.
