Jack of the Wood Green Man India Pale Ale

Poured on cask, so a bit different from other descriptions. Murky amber with small foamy off-white head. Very hoppy, citric, and nicely bitter. Great beer on cask. Imagine the non-cask isn’t as impressive.

A solid, straightforward IPA. Copper pour, thick white head. Nice mix of floral and citrus hops.

Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is crystal malt, toast, and floral hops. Flavor is crystal malt, some toast, and a bitter slightly earthy floral finish.

on tap at the jack of the wood place in asheville. amber orange pour with small white head. soapy lacing. aroma of floral hops and spices. grapefruit and floral hops throughout in the taste. seemed like chewing on flowers. K7.5

on tap-pours an off white head and dark gold color. Aroma is sweet pine, medium malt. Taste is bitter hops (cluster)/medium malt. Maybe some orange rind.

On tap at Jack of the Wood. Nice grassy hoppy aroma with soe apricot and citrus rind fruity character. Light malt sweetness and touch of caramel. Miedium orange-amber clear with light haze and foamy lacing head. Medium watery body with heavy carbonation. Fizzy. Starts with medium sweet malt character and grassy hop taste that turns bitter pretty quick. Strong bitter finish to this one with lingering bitter after.

On draft at Jack of the Wood, Asheville. Poured deep amber with eggshell white head. Plenty of lace. Sweet and malty with plenty of resinous pine and grapefruit flavor. Nice IPA.

At least I assume I have the right IPA. It was on cask at the brewery, and the beertender told me it was the normal IPA with minor additions when it is casked. I am rating it high because it is the best cask ale I have had in the US. I miss the heck out of real ale and this guy is really trying to get it right, and coming very close.
