The flavor is close to the aroma, yeasty funk all the way, earthy, slight fruit and pepper notes, lemon zest and a touch of grass, some nice light pale malt flavor with just a dash of alcohol. Medium body with lively carbonation, nice dry/lasting finish with a lingering spice aftertaste.
A very nice brew,I would buy this often if I could get it locally.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 18, 2009 (12 oz btl) Frothy white head fully diminishes w/ no lacing; cloudy straw color. Strong clove and citrus peel in nose w/ little to no malt. Lively carbonation adds to sharp tang of clove w/ little other noticeable character - slightly astringent. Aftertaste is almost entirely clove; yeast is barely detectable. Oscbert (554), Sacramento, California, USA

~Spicy clove scent with some coriander and apple.
~Spicy fruity flavor, just like an Abbey ale, but with more wheat.
~A light crisp feel finished with a sharp dry spicy finish.
~ I thought this was a really good brew. Not sure why all the bad ratings. I think I may have gotten a fresh batch since it was bought from the brewery. Very nice. hayduke (1690), Eureka, California, USA

| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/20 | Mar 5, 2008 WOW!! Calling this a saison is REALLY stretching the definition. Aroma was a bit weak. LIght fruit and a hint of light malt. Pour was ugly. Looked like toilet water that has been clogged for a day. Taste was dreadful and near drainpour. Extremely sweet and sugary with a iced tea aftertaste. The only thing that comes to mind is this beer is a clown. It’s laughable and mocks real saison. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle: Misty gold color, light head and lacing. The nose is a bit malty with some pale and pilsner malts, spicy yeast esters, tons of coriander and clove with a bright orange note. A full sweet pale malt flavor that’s nearly cloying when it pairs with the spice and yeast zest. The finish is grassy and sweet; very spicy. Needs more carbonation, a bit more funk and a bit less sweetness. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA
