Hazy, straw-colored with a small, white head that disappears almost immediately. Clove tastes and a surprising up-front bitterness. Medium-light bodied. Dry finish. GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 28, 2006 Nothing really special to note of this beer, although I was suprised to find that it’s considered a saison. A bit oxidized in the nose, it did have a rather off-sweetness that wasn’t appealing. A sweet flavor to go with the sweet nose, it also had some woodiness that was a suprise. Overall I wasn’t swinging one way or the other. A rather average beer, but not a saison. Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 11, 2006 Golden ale with a thin white head. Yeasty aroma, with strong cloves developping. Good malt, fruits, honey and cloves in mouth. Medium bodied. Not bad. On tap at brewery, August 2005. marcus (1902), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2005 On tap at Jack Russell. This hazy gold beer poured with an off-white head that dissipated quickly. There was a strong taste of clove and a spicy aroma. The mouthfeel was a bit carbonated and there was a very dry finish. This is easily Jack Russell’s best beer. Tubbfan (144), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2005 Poured a cloudy amber-like color with minimal head and no lacing. Aroma and flavor is sweet, malty. Very little hoppiness in the aroma or flavor. Similar to many saison’s I’ve tested. The cloudiness is distinctive, though. Mouthfeel is tannic, yeasty with very little carbonation. I find this appealing and highly drinkable. FlacoAlto (2482), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2005 This beer pours a hazy gold-orange color and is topped by a wispy pale head that when roused creates a frothy pale tan head. The aroma is spicy with herbal notes of lemon grass, soft grainy malt, orange peel and ginger. The taste is lightly sweet up front with a sort of herbal spicy hop note to it as well. It finishes with a spritzy note of carbonation, hints of orange zest, and a bright though subtle bitterness. This beer has a fair amount of yeast character to it as well, it has a certain herbal-astringency to it that reminds me a bit of Duvel. There is a certain soft creamy quality to this beer that makes me think of vanilla, and it actually sticks to the palate a bit despite being fairly light. It is fairly sweet, though not overly so, for a "Farmhouse" type beer. This is pretty tasty, though I might like to see it be a bit drier, though the sweetness does accentuate the citrus component of this beer. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Straw colored brew with a fast fading white head. Nose is yeasty and spicy. Full bodied with a fruitiness to it(peaches and apricots) and some spiciness(clove). Very trippelish. Overall a nice enjoyable brew. JohnC (2288), Mission Viejo, California, USA

Clear yellow with a minimal head, nice sweet aroma. thick tongue feel, no sign of the alcohol, a complex, sweet flavor. more triple-ish than saison, but very enjoyable.
