From a growler provided by sliffy! Pours black with a quickly dissapating brown head. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, caramel. Flavor is bourbon blast, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, coconut, caramel. Palate is silky smooth with a full body, mild carbonation, and boozy finish. Definitely bourbon forward, but not over the top. Very well done.

Sampled at GABF, Jackie-Os was one of the standouts easily. Maybe the best line up. Smooth roasty aroma with lots of bourbon. Flavor is smooth, boozy. Chocolate, vanilla all wrapped in delicious bourbon. Awesome. Would love to get some more of this.

Growler courtesy of markwise. pours black with beige head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, caramel malts. Flavor, similar to aroma, everything one should want when it comes to barrel aged beers, boozy yet smooth and delicious, Hints of chocolate/cocoa powder, vanilla with warming bourbon.

GABF Taster X4 pours out black topped with a brown head. Aroma was rich malts, dark roast, chocolate, molasses, oak, and some vanilla. Taste wow every thing your nose told you and more. Thick mouth full of sweetness and a good balance of hops to hold it all together.

GABF 2009. Pours black with an average, frothy dark brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, burnt grain, coffee, chocolate), average hop (perfume), average yeast (leather) with notes of prune, wood, brown sugar, and vanilla. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, heavy sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness.

Believe the hype. This is a very real beer. And one I went back repeatedly to at te gabf. One of the best beers served there easily. Very dark. Dark roasted chocolate. Light vanilla. Fudgey texture. Subtle wood flavors.

Growler courtesy of markwise, thanks! It pours deep darkness with wafer thin off white head. The aroma is oak, vanilla, some chocolate brownie and a touch of roasty to burnt malts. The taste is thick tasty chocolate fudge like brownie to go along with vanilla, a modest level of oak and bourbon. It ends toward more vanilla along with lingering bourbon and chocolate. Very tasty stuff.
