16oz Handbottle. Pleasant bourbon, bread pudding, caramel and oak vanilla aroma. Soft and alcoholic. Pours a somewhat murky middle brown, with a golden fringe and good prickle of carbonation. Flavor gives more oak immediately. A very dry, vanilla forward creamy bourbon character. Malt comes across as a little glassy and reflective. Some very crisp chocolate-chip-cookie brown sugars and a nip of grass. The bourbon perks up at the end, with noticeable and forward fresh booze character. In some sense the body of this beer comes across as thin, but I think some of that comes from the parching qualities of the oak and the bourbon, which I think are well melded with this beer. I’d take some more chewy, rich density, but I think the performance of the barrel is excellent in this beer. Age has also done it well. Nice work.

22oz shared by suzygreenberg. Pours a still slightly murky dark tobacco brown. Sweet moderately boozy nose. Caramel and pineapple with some ’off’ aromas as well...acetone and some faint veggies as well. Watery body, faint carbonation. Sweet, lightly malted with some tobacco up front the moves into some boozy tartness that pics up some laqour thinner, butterscotch and lightly cooked vegitables. There are a few things wrong with this beer and I think the starting point is the base beer. Not worth the price tag on this one.

Bottle from suzygreenberg. Big boozy nose whiskey, peaty earthy notes. Vanilla, barrel, tingly alcohol, green apple. Alcohol in nose becomes unpleasant and chemical like as it warms. Pours still brown, no head, legs, or lace. Boozey barrel notes up front, green apple, some smoke. Whiskey, chemicaly alcohol notes. This one started nicely but ended somewhat dissappointing. Carbonation was incredibly low. I did not find it bad overall, but I had hoped it would be better.

Big thanks to goryshkewych for this one. Pours dark red with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, maple, malt, and lots of sweetness with a bit of booziness. Flavor is wood, vanilla, malt, bourbon, sweetness, huge booze, and finishing with caramel. Rock on, Brad and Jackie O’s. Great beers so far!

Growler pour courtesy of markwise. Pours a strikingly clear garnet with off white head. The aroma is full with bold bourbon and vanilla along with oak and a tasty smelling layer of burnt bread, malts, a touch of cinnamon and a hint of pork sandwich. The taste is smooth and a bit thin with an initial pulse of sweet malts slowly bleeding into sweet bourbon, dry bourbon booze, oak and vanilla. Into the finish a pleasing touch of roastiness wells up amid vanilla and oak.
