blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA Nov 30, 2006 Not too bad. A great start to a morning and an excellent way to compliment your meal. Aroma is strong and has a nutmeg like characteristic. Appearance kind of sucked. Flavor is quite good, nice and bright. Very good job emulating the pumpkin spice aspect they were aiming for. So far I like it. The palate is also crips and leaves you wanting another drink, well, it left me wanting another.
Trev (501), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Sep 5, 2008 pours a dark amber with a medium bubbly off white head.
Aroma is caramel malt, slighly spicey (mostly cinnamon and nutmeg), subtle pumpkin.
Flavour is a little light, again nutmeg, and cinnamon play first fiddle with some clove and pumpkin flavours bringing up the rear.
I know this is an A-B brew, but it isn’t all that bad to be honest. A little light in body, but an easy drinking lightly spiced ale. SHIG (1509), Oberoffligen, Germany Sep 4, 2008 Bottle: Poured a orange color with a off white head that turned to a jello top. Aroma is spicy and pumpkin. Taste is a grain, pumpkin, and slight spices at the finish. I expected a bit more pumpkin, then I realized its an AB product. missing (61), Wichita, Kansas, USA Sep 3, 2008 I know it looses points for being an AB product. But to be honest, it isn’t that bad of a beer. Not the best I have ever had but not bad. To me, the biggest detractor was on the palate. It had a slightly oily tang that seemed to coat the mouth. Also, the appearance of the bottle I had was more brown than amber (or orange). Style wise, I think this is more of a spice beer than a pumpkin beer . . . but, it isn’t too bad. rustychiles (438), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 30, 2008 On tap
Pours a brownish amber color with a small white head. Aroma of malt, pumpkin, clove, nutmeg and other spices. Flavor is malt, spices, pumpkin. Flavors seem very artificial. Not too bad, but not that good either. mcjay (26), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Aug 29, 2008 Light copper color with a thin white head. Spicy cinnamon aroma, and lightly malty and very spicy taste that over powers the pumpkin. Not great but not bad. Most of the new additions to the Michelob lineup are at least worth checking out but I’d recommend Amber Bock over this one.
