on tap -pours a foamy off white head and amber color . aroma is mild citrus hops. Taste is citrus hops-with some bitterness, medium malt. Finishes with some metallic. OK/mild carbonation. 070617-Snake River Pheasant Tail Red Ale/Jackson Hole Draft Beer-12oz bottle-pours a light tan head and amber color. Aroma is first medium malt-caramel then citrus hops. Next time both. Taste is nicely balanced, both medium malt-caramel then citrus hops. Although a bit thin. Has Maibock and mild APA character.

Amber in color with a off-white average head. Light nose of hops with hint of roasted malt. Flavor is somewhat hoppy on the front with a medium body that finishes with a very light hint of roasted malt. Not what I call a scottish ale, but still fine ale to drink.

Draft at brewpub: Nice amber color, darker than expected for a middle of the road brew. Taste was full of malts with some fruitiness and just a bit of hops. Although it may be more of an amber, this beer is quite well worth tasting.

Bottle: Dull Amber, somewhat darker, moderate foamy off-white head, fairly nice lacing.   Bready nose, malty, with an odd burnt honey tinge.   Quite bready to start, but no peat, smoke, or anything associated with a Scottish Ale.   Tiz more of an Amber.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate at best.   Clean finish, very slight hop presense, enough to balance the pale malts.   Decent, and quite quaffable, but forgetable as well.   Thanks Jordan!

Bottle of Jackson Hole Draft Beer: Light hops in the nose, amber color with nice head and lacing. Caramel malts in the flavor and a chewy/malty body. Very similar to the vienna lager with the malt bill but definitelly an ale and more fruity, thick and vibrant. Actually one of their better beers!
