Commercial Description:
Saaz Blonde is brewed according to the Belgian tradition but with Czech Saaz hops. It has a light colour with a blonde head. The flavour is fruity, contrasted by the dryness of angelica, clove and coriander. The aroma is rounded by a pine needle character from the Saaz hops. The finish has a moderate bitterness. Enjoy at 5-7 degrees Celsius.

Golden colour, creamy white head a little lacing. Aroma is malty, very much so and that’s a disappointment. Thre is some hops, but very discrete. Flavour is mild, again malts, lemon and actually the alcohol sticks out in a way that is disturbing. Mouthfeel is average, crisp. Not worth the hype.

Bottle, 75cl. Pours a dark orange beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is sweet, hops, grass with notes of dust and yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of coriander, yeast, fruit and alcohol. The palate is smooth and a little sticky. Overall an average beer.

05-OCT-2005, bottle @CPH airport. Golden, light almost white head. Yeasty nose, nice. Weisse-like but stronger. Oranges, slight bitterness, medium carbonation, and alcohol level is OK. Fine beer.

To me, a beer ingredient list containing the mention "glucose syrup" is normally a beer to avoid. But I hadn’t seen that when I bought the bottle... And so, I wasn’t too enthusiatic about opening the bottle after seeing that. But I haven’t been disappointed with that one, as the result is a pretty well-balanced strong blond, with a dominant fruity side, notes of various but discreet spices and an interesting hop presence. Pretty dry and alchoolic, also. So it is an ok beer, with no big flaws but without anything that would have me come back on a regular basis. Beautiful looking beer, though...

Sample at "strong beers and sweet cakes" - matched with a bananacake with chocolate topping. Clear golden with a white head. Fruity belgian yeast aroma, coriander and cloves. ´Light sweet fruity flavor without any bitterness.
