heavy (503), Split, Croatia Aug 31, 2007 Plastic bottle 0.5 l. Brewed by Jadranska Pivovara. Yellow with very thin head. Some mild floral hops in aroma. Flavor bit soapy but not so bad as it has some firm beer taste. Palate very soapy which is definitely around the worst things beer can have. Overall pretty bad beer. Dorqui (1289), Brescia, Italy Oct 31, 2005 Updated: Sep 17, 2007Plasticized bottle. Much fine and much fading foam, nearly nonexistent. Dark yellow color, enough firm and little bubbly. Unpleasant and unbalanced scent; notes of soaked and watered malty, light rumors of alcohol and cleansing. Wretched taste, extremely watery and metallic. Short and bitter end. Disappointing. pivnizub (3899), Porúří, Germany Aug 25, 2005 Pale golden coloured; very thin foamy layer; floral hoppiness in the nose, also grainy maltiness; sweetish start, mild bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light-bodied, almost watery; slightly sweetish-malty aftertaste. The aroma is very pleasant, the rest too bland and disappointing........ ogivlado (2399), Zagreb, Croatia Aug 4, 2005 brown plastic bottle(1000ml). -clear golden coloured with little airy head, aroma is malty with mild hop character, a little bit too fizzy but otherwise quite nice beer, bitter finish Doggythedog (1020), Split, Croatia Jul 11, 2005 So, I went to a store near my house to buy some groceries. That store didn’t get a new beer ever since Tuborg Green was released, and I was surprised to see a new label in the cooler. I went near, and couldn’t believe it. It was Jadransko Pivo, that was last brewed by Jadranska Pivovara more than 10 years ago (don’t know when it was exactly discontinued, but it was before 1995). This time it’s apparently license-brewed in Slovenia, but we cannot really be sure. The Laško Zlatorog bottles that are brewed in Jadranska Pivovara are also marked like they were brewed in Laško. But until I have information to prove otherwise, I’ll assume that they’re talking the truth. When I added it, I assumed that it was a Pale Lager, but now I’m thinking that it’s more like Premium.
It poured a beautiful deep (really deep) golden colour, with a medium sized white, fluffy and rapidly disappearing head. The nose was grainy with some malty hints. The taste was... something different. It was good, mind you, grainy, with some bitterness from hops, but not enough to make an aftertaste. The "different" thing about it was the lemony sourness that dominated the aftertaste, and "late" taste. I noticed the same kind of aftertaste not too long ago, and that was a Tripel, Augustijn to be more precise. It’s refreshing, and rather unique. It’s not a great brew, but it’s good enough, and certainly better than the other lagers Laško makes. And it’s always nice to see an old beer get ressurrected.
