Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 2, 2005 First of all, this is the most unique brewpub I’ve ever found ... with awesome authentic Indian food. This seasonal is a caramel, creamy beer with a sharp burnt-sugar malt finish. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 24, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber nearly brown color. Medium head that does not have great staying power. Mild aroma of toasted malt, but I’m guessing that most of the color comes from a few handfulls of black patent malt. The body is lighter than I enjoy in a Scottish ale. However, the strongly evident presence of gypsum suggests that if an Indian brewery tried to make a Scottish ale, they’d most likely heap gypsum into it just so it would resemble an IPA. And that’s about what we’ve got here. A good beer, but not a great beer.
