Poured a dark brown color with small amount of bubbly tan head. Aroma is a bit sweet and molasesy with slight dark fruit and a tad bit of roastiness. Flavor seems a bit watery to me. Light and sweet, slight roastiness and fruit flavor. Could not believe when I saw this was 8%abv. Overall, a bit weak flavor wise Could use some more malt base.

Initially metallic aroma, once the largish bubbles left quickly, aroma was more dry and reminded me of cat litter. Dark black, thinner in body than I imagined, great lacing from the lightly tan head. Little metallic taste, dark light bodied roast, goes back to a bit of a rusty note in the finish. The beer is mostly good and the faults mentioned are peripheral.

Beer tasting at wine world. For the most part this is ok. A tad thin in taste. There are much better stoudts out there.

Pours black with a large (for a stout) head. Aroma is weird, sweet, salty, smoky and bitter. Salty licorice candy, smoke, plums, prunes, red licorice, and soft fruit. The taste is also all over the place. Salty licorice (like the cigar shaped candies with the sprinkles for the fire), chocolate, coffee, red licorice, smoke, dark fruit and soft fruit. Weird. But decent.

Sampled at the first annual Medicine Hat Beer Festival. Clear dark brown with amber highlights. Aroma is sweet caramel and chocolate with candy-like elements that bring to mind Tootsie Rolls. Lighter palate that is thin on burnt malt and dominated by syrupy sweetness, saved (somewhat) by a dry finish. Pretty average, but a very pleasant surprise to have found a foreign stout I hadn’t tasted at the Medicine Hat Beer Fest!

Pours Black with a thich brown head. Malty sweet aroma. F;avour is very fresh and malty with a roasted malt bitterness. Very interesting. It is kind of a refreshing stout. Not what i was expecting but I like it. Slightly spicy nice mouth feel . Good stout. The 8% is well hidden in the palate. It gives it a kind of dry crisp finish, but still verybmalty.

The smell doesn’t really smell great, I can’t really put my finger on it but it seems sour or something, like a 5 cent candy. Nice and dark with good lacing on the sides of the glass. It tastes like dark malt but of the medium to large scale quantities, some other flavours are mixed in there that really don’t belong. The yeaste and bubbles saves this with smooth creamy flavour. You could say this beer is good from the mid point on, so it’s half good. Now let’s go start a barfight at the ranchman!

Bottle. Pours deep dark brown, but falls short of black, nice thick pale tan head. with surprisingly nice lacing. Nose is quite soft, dried dark fruits, mild roast, some coffee and chocolate. Palate, though light, isn’t thin, providing a nice tart mouthfeel, with figs, prunes, and "Fruit Rollups", plus the expected roasted malt flavor. A very contradictory beer, interesting indeed.
