The body is very very black with just a trace of ruby when held to light in the thin part of my tulip glass. The head is a light brown color and sticks to the side of the glass. The potent aroma has notes of coffee, maple and some rich milk chocolate. There is also a little bit of booze, almost like brandy. The taste has some light coffee and some dry dark chocolate. There is also an underlying fruit hint of cherries. The finish definitely has anise. This is an interesting stout. Ungstrup (15259), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 22, 2006 A very dark black beer with a faint red shine under a bubbly brown head. The aroma sweet roasted (with a bit of acidity from the roasted malt), as well as notes of coffee. The flavor is quite sweet with notes of licorice and coffee - the coffee being a bit bitter as very hard roasted coffee, the end is bitter with a weird coffee note lingering for some time. The body is surprisingly thin the ABV taken into account. altonbrownd (1915), Amsterdam, Netherlands

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2006 Thanks to Matta for this one, which boosts both my Dark Side score and my Jamaica score, mon! The pour was deep brownish, with aromas of dark malt, chocoff, and slight vegetal notes. The palate was on the light side for a stout, but the 8% stayed fairly well hidden, and the taste, which was on the sweet chocolatey side, stayed consistent. rickgordon (3302), Göteborg, Sweden
