My 1500th rating in just over 20 months, gee I wonder how much I’ve spent on beer in that time… Clear copper with a medium tan head leaving minor patches of lace. Aroma of skunky grains, malt, maple, nuts and mild darker malts. Taste of malt and burnt caramel with a nasty cola like aftertaste. Thin and bland, not a big fan.

Translucent brown color like advertised. The head fades to nothing and bubbles are absent. A malty initial smell with caramel hints as well. A touch of hops come in the aroma at the end. Taste is sweet and sharp with a b ig malt, it reminds me of a strong sasparilla or root beer.Although its sweet it also displays some mature hops to dry up the beer and counter a big malt sweetness. The palate is juicy and refreshing surprising for a bold malt beer. This is a class brown ale and I like it.

Six pack from Tali’s C-Store. Deep amber / brown color with a light tan head. Mile aroma dominated by toasted malt. Pleasant, sweet flavor with a bit of hops and chocolat malt in the finish. Smooth and rather light in body and flavor. Nice enough.

Pour is brown with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet malts and not much else. Flavor is slighly rosted malt with a touch of chocolate at the end. Nothing really great. It’s a brown ale.

Had this from a bottle at an Old Chicago in order to help fulfill a world beer tour, methinks...

Deep copper with a cream colored head that fades. Malty aroma, with some caramel and molasses as well. Medium light body with very little flavor. A little astringent in the finish.
